The Department of Computer Application is one of the oldest departments at VSSUT, Burla. It currently offers Postgraduate Degree in Computer Application (MCA) and Ph.D programme. In the growing digital phenomenon all over the world, the MCA program aims at imparting comprehensive knowledge with equal emphasis on theory and practice. It prepares students to take up positions as system analysts, systems designers, Programmers and managers in any field related to information technology. During last 2 decades, this branch produced highly skilled, technically empowered, self motivated professionals (around 600) to serve the humanity both nationally and internationally at par excellence. The Department of CSE & IT is running B.Tech., M.Tech. and Ph.D. programme. The B.Tech. programme in the Department of CSE was started in 1994 and M.Tech. in 2009. The B.Tech & M.Tech courses of Information Technology were started in 2004 and 2012 respectively. Since its inception, the Department is able to establish the reputation for imparting quality education and research at undergraduate, post graduate and Ph.D. programmes. The Department has well equipped modern laboratories such as Data Communication, Image Processing & Cluster Computing and Soft Computing Laboratory for pursuing research keeping pace with the technological advancement.
